Nate Oats puts away rumors of Kentucky move

The University of Alabama's men's basketball coach took to social media to reassure fans of his commitment to the Crimson Tide.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats has put a stop to any speculation regarding him potentially taking over John Calipari's position at Kentucky.

In a statement posted on social media Monday night, Oats reaffirmed his dedication to the University of Alabama and its basketball program:

"Bama Nation,

I am fully committed to this team and to the University, We have already accomplished some great things here, and there is nothing I want more than for the University of Alabama to win its first national championship in men’s basketball. Despite any rumors to the contrary, rest assured that I will continue that pursuit as your head coach.”

Oats arrived at Alabama in 2019 and recently guided the Crimson Tide men’s basketball team to its first-ever Final Four appearance.
