GoFundMe campaign raises more than $31,000 for injured Morgan County investigator

The campaign said that all funds donated will go directly to Brooks and his family.

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — A GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $31,000 to help pay for the medical costs for a Morgan County Sheriff's Office investigator who was injured while working on his farm.

According to the GoFundMe page, Caleb Brooks was injured in an accident involving the family's bull and suffered internal bleeding to his abdomen. It was later determined that Brooks was in need of a transplant after he underwent several corrective surgeries.

Brooks has since been transported to a hospital in Cleveland where he awaits a small intestine transplant, which his wife said could be found within three months.

The GoFundMe page said that brooks has been a servant to his community for several years and is a father to one son with another on the way.

"Anyone who knows Caleb knows that he is one of the most loving, selfless people in this whole world," the page reads.

The campaign said that all funds donated will go directly to Brooks and his family.
