Alabama Farmers' Cooperative is bringing holiday joy to families of Morgan Co. with 'Hope Chest'

Staff members will be putting together shoe boxes for the Volunteer Center of Morgan County filled with holiday goodies.

DECATUR, Ala. — We are days away from the Christmas holiday and while many families are scrambling to find last minute gifts, many families will unfortunately have to wake up with little celebrate which is why Alabama Farmers' Cooperative are doing all they can to bring joy to families.

Alabama Farmers' Cooperative turned part of their office into Santa's Workshop for the day as they came together to help spread Christmas joy by stuffing boxes, decorating ornaments and making cards the families of Morgan County.

"We're here putting together holiday hope chest for the volunteer center of Morgan County," Tiffany Lester, Director of Marketing and Public Relations stated. "We have 100 boxes that we're putting together to hopefully help them reach their goal of giving 1300 boxes to the kids in the community. "

Generous employees are the 'elves' of the operation as they purchased enough gifts to fill 100 shoe boxes to help reach their goal, but according to Lester, the company is always finding a way to give back.

"We love to give back here at our Farmers' Cooperative," Lester states. "We donate to different nonprofits throughout the year, but with it being the holiday season, we really wanted to ramp it up. Fortunately, we have a staff full of givers and that's how we're able to do these holiday checks. Plus, toys for tots, as well as bringing together custom Christmas cards for Hospice of the Valley."

The feeling of giving back is what makes it worth it for Lester and the staff at Farmers' Cooperative

"You know, it just means a lot to our entire staff here, starting from the president at the top all the way down to our lowest level employee," Lester states. "We understand that it could be anybody, it could be us tomorrow that needs a hand up. So, we want to help them as best we can."
