Dee Anderson & Aqeel Glass showcase skills in front of pro scouts

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Last season, Aqeel Glass and Dee Anderson connected 11 times for touchdowns with the Alabama A&M Bulldogs. This past weekend, they showcased their skills for all 32 NFL teams.

Down in Mobile, Dee Anderson was one of 40 players that put on a show for all 32 NFL scouts at the first HBCU Combine.

Held in partnership with the Senior Bowl, the event provided exposure and opportunity to draft prospects who deserve a chance to prove they can play at the next level.

Anderson led the SWAC in TD catches last season. With his size and frame, many scouts have Anderson listed as tight end while others have him at wide receiver. Anderson just want to be a play maker.

"They are trying to see where I'm at," says Dee Anderson. "Tight end or receiver. "I say that I'm a weapon. I'm not going to say I'm a tight end. I like receiver more. but look, I'm a weapon. I can do anything and can play anywhere."

On the west coast, Anderson's quarterback in 2021 shined in front of the scouts and a national television audience.

At the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl,  Aqeel Glass went 9-for-11 with 141 passing yards and one touchdown.

The two-time SWAC Offensive Player of the Year led his squad down the field in the final drive to set up a game winning field goal, but his kicker pushed it wide left. Overall glass enjoyed his time on west coast while making his mark.

"It's been great to get out here and have this great experience," says Aqeel Glass. "To play the game that I love at a high level has been a great experience. It's been an honor for me to put on a show not only for myself, but Alabama A&M and all the HBCUs. No matter where you go, talent is talent and football is football."

Glass and Anderson will participate in this year's Black College Hall of Fame HBCU Legacy Bowl. The game will take place in New Orleans on February 19th.
