These three escapees remain on the run, years after leaving Alabama officials' custody

Three men are still wanted by Alabama authorities after escaping various law enforcement agencies between 2015 and 2018.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — As Alabama corrections officials captured an escaped inmate from a Decatur facility this week, we looked into Alabama Department of Corrections records for other escapees authorities are still looking for.

Thomas Lashawn Davis, 49, escaped the North Alabama Community Based Facility on Highway 20 West around 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.

To date, there are three other missing inmates on record. The following are descriptions provided from ADOC information sheets:

SAMUEL GARRETT, date of escape 8/21/2015

Inmate Samuel Garrett, AIS# 147380, left from assigned job location at approximately 1:00pm, on 08/21/2015. The assigned job location is located in Montgomery, AL in Montgomery County. If you have any information concerning the whereabouts of this escapee, please notify your local law enforcement agency, the facility from which the inmate escaped, or call the Alabama Dept. of Corrections at 1-800-831-8825.

Incarcerated: Red Eagle Work Center

Offense: Receiving Stolen Property II (Talladega County)

CHARLES SIMMONS, date of escape 10/10/2015

Inmate was not present during the 9:35 p.m. institutional count. Bed roster conducted and confirmed inmate missing.

Incarcerated: Red Eagle Work Center

Offense: Theft of Property I (Macon County)

DAVID CURTIS WOOD, date of escape 5/21/2018

Inmate Wood, David Curtis, AIS# 180034, escape from Hamilton Aged and Infirmed at approximately 8:15AM on 05/21/2018. 

Incarcerated: Hamilton Aged & Infirmed 

Offense: Burglary I
