HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Voting in the upcoming primary election is important, but many say they end up not voting because their polling place is in an inconvenient location or they don't have a way to get there.
Fortunately, if you live in Madison County and need a ride to the polls, you have some options.
St. Bartley Church in Huntsville is offering free rides to voting precincts. They will take requests on election day. You can contact them at (256) 536-6266.
The Madison County Republican Party says they'll accomodate people. All you have to do is give them a call at (256) 536-0518, and they'll get you a ride.
The Huntsville City Shuttle Bus will be running as normal. You can catch a one-way ride for $1.00, and a $0.50 ride if you're disabled, 65 years or older, or a student. For more information on shuttle routes, click here.
Huntsville Public Transit will also schedule a time to take people to the polls on their handi-ride vehicles. This service is available to people with disabilities and senior citizens who don't live near shuttle bus routes. Learn more about the handi-ride service by clicking here.
