HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — COVID-19 has students, teachers, and parents at home, contemplating, "What's next?"
The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber has some help for you. They've launched a new program called Smart Careers at ASmartPlace. It's an online resource for career prep and planning that's part of Huntsville's ASmartPlace career portal.
Smart Careers includes materials for learners of all ages, and they'll be hosting a virtual Senior Sprint Career Fair on May 13-15, an opportunity for high school seniors to meet companies who are looking to hire.
With so much upheaval in their senior years, high school students still need to think about what's next. The career fair will show them available jobs to keep them motivated, a look at what their future could be, and what local companies are currently hiring.
And Smart Careers has more to offer than just the career fair.
Career Prep curriculum that covers topics including smart decision making understanding the workplace, and money management, is available for free for anyone who wants to get more "career ready."
The Forecasted Careers feature gives a snapshot of forecasted career results for every job in Madison County, from teaching to accounting to engineering.
