Suspect in weekend Decatur shooting in custody

DECATUR, Ala. — Decatur Police say that a suspect in a weekend shooting is in custody.

Officers responded to a call from Decatur Morgan Hospital on Saturday, where there was a gunshot victim.

They say that during the investigation, Antonie Scruggs was identified as the suspect in the shooting.

On May 12, 2020, Scruggs turned himself in at the Decatur Police Department and was charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree.

Scruggs is being held at the Morgan County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bond, per Circuit Judge Stephen Brown. 

Decatur Police remind the public that the above listed defendant is considered innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
