'Wellness on Wheels' mobile health unit brings healthcare services to Florence

Healthcare will be available at the Shoals Dream Center from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

FLORENCE, Ala. — A "Wellness on Wheels" mobile health unit is coming to Florence on January 11. Central North Alabama Health Services, Inc. wants to get more residents access to healthcare. Those interested can go to the Shoals Dream Center between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for community care.

This health unit is open to people of all ages, with or without insurance. The initiative seeks to ensure that the needed healthcare services are within reach for everyone in the Florence community. Medicaid, Medicare, and most insurances will be accepted. For the uninsured, an initial free visit is provided, along with a scaling fee based on eligibility criteria for those underinsured.

The mobile unit will have an exam room and dedicated medical staff. General health check-ups, preventive screenings, and basic medical consultations are among the services being offered. This will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with visits limited. No appointments will be necessary.

Central North Alabama Health Services, Inc. (CNAHSI) has been providing healthcare in North Alabama since 1982. These services have helped more than 100,000 residents across Madison, Limestone, and Morgan counties.

"Wellness on Wheels" is scheduled to visit the Shoals Dream Center monthly. For information on upcoming stops and additional details, you can visit the company’s website at www.cnahsi.com.
