Students throw parade to say ‘Thank you!’ to essential workers

Chloe wants to give thanks to all the teachers working hard during the pandemic. She says, “Thank you for teaching us and… helping us do our math.”

MADISON, Ala. — Essential workers have sacrificed so much during the pandemic. Friday afternoon, some of our smallest in the Valley decided to say ‘thank you’-- in a big way!

Students at Legacy Elementary School in Madison held a parade to salute essential workers. They made posters with messages of encouragement, and even dressed up as different workers!

We talked with some students about their professions of choice!

Ellyana tells us she decided to dress up as a “Doctor!”

Chloe adds,  “... and I am a teacher!”

We spoke with student, Parker Miller, who says, “I decided to dress up as a paleontologist because that’s my dream job.”

Savanah Culver tells our reporter, “My mom’s a doctor and she decided that it would be nice if I dressed up as a doctor.”

Ellyana says she has a message for our essential workers. She says, “Thank you for helping us.” Chloe wants to give thanks to all the teachers who have worked hard during the pandemic. She says, “Thank you for teaching us and… helping us do our math.”
