An Exciting and Hot Weekend

There's so much going on this weekend! Enjoy it, and keep the water handy because it'll be hot

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — We actually saw high temperatures in the low 90s this afternoon. If you spent anytime outside you also probably noticed it felt a little more gross. Dew points have also been on the rise thanks to the early phases of a change in our weather pattern.

That change involves an upper-level ridge that will move into the Tennessee Valley. That ridge of high pressure should keep us almost completely dry Saturday with the exception of a very isolated shower across North Alabama. This should allow temperatures to easily climb into the low 90s. Do not get used to this pattern because it will not last long.

Come Sunday we'll begin to talk about another upper-level low. This one is far up in Canada, but it will be enough to squash the rather weak ridge we see on Saturday. Still winds will remain southerly bringing in a lot of very warm and moist air. Futurecast tries to bring more organized activity in on Sunday as a result, but I'm not sold on this.

The low will bring other opportunities for rain come Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.

While futurecast tries to bring more organized showers to the Tennessee Valley on Sunday, activity will remain isolated further south. This is good news for anyone traveling to Talladega.

Regardless of any isolated shower in Talladega on Sunday it will be hot. They should easily climb into the low 90s.

A look at the weekend as a whole. Like we said, it'll be hot but it'll be great! Happy Father's Day!
