Local businesses banded together to benefit Morgan County students

The Stuff the Bus event gathered school supplies for Morgan County Schools students.

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — You helped Stuff the Bus for Morgan County students!

Members from the community and leaders met in Priceville and loaded the bus with necessary school supplies like pencils, backpacks, and folders.

The sheriff's office, WZDX, and 96.9 radio partnered with the Morgan County Schools Foundation. for the event. Tiffany Brightwell with the Morgan County Schools Foundation said, "There's a large portion of Morgan County students that live below the poverty line. And so we just want to make sure that we are able to remove any impediment to learning that they might have."

The Morgan County Schools Foundation is looking for donations of new school supplies to benefit Morgan County students in need. The Big Day is August 7, but contributions can be made at any time.

Barrels are at various drop off locations throughout Morgan County, including:

  • Dollar General at:
    Neel
    Danville
    Priceville
    Flint
    Modaus Road
  • Kroger Shopping Center in Hartselle
  • Hartselle Main Street
  • Morgan County Sheriff's Office
  • Decatur Renasant Bank branches

Your donation will directly impact students in the Morgan County School system.

Besides new school supplies, tennis shoes and backpacks are needed. The Foundation will accept monetary donations as well.
