Jackson County Commission approves chairman's resignation

Until a new chairman is selected, the commission's vice chairmen is to choose an interim chairman to ensure the needs of the citizens are served.

JACKSON COUNTY, Alabama — The Jackson County Commission chairman officially tendered his resignation to Governor Kay Ivey on December 22, 2020.

The commission unanimously voted in favor of approving Chairman Tim Guffey's resignation.

Until a new chairman is selected, the commission's vice-chairman is to appoint an interim chairman to ensure the needs of the citizens are served.

Following the approval of Guffey's resignation, the commission motioned to adjourn the meeting.
