Bonnell Drive shooting suspect denied bond; case sent to grand jury

Tye'Deshun Stevens is being held without bond. His case is going to the grand jury.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala — UPDATE (9/6): U.S Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force caught Tye'Deshun Stevens today in Anniston, Alabama. 

Stevens will be booked in Madison County jail on two capital murder warrants for the deadly shooting on Bonnell Drive last week.

UPDATE (9/5): Huntsville Police have issued two capital murder warrants for 23 year-old Tye'Deshun Stevens for the deadly shooting on Bonnell Drive last week. 

Stevens is believed to be driving a silver vehicle in the Anniston, Alabama or Columbia, South Carolina area. 

Police say if you see Stevens to not approach and instead contact HPD Major Crimes Unit Investigator Julian Johnson at 256-924-1778.

The case remains under investigation.

UPDATE (8/31): Huntsville Police confirm an arrest related to one of two fatal shootings that took place within hours of one another this week.

Major Crimes investigators say 28-year-old Damon Andrew Blinks, a resident of Greencastle, Indiana, was arrested in that state. Blinks was charged with capital murder in the case of a shooting in the 300 block of Quality Circle.

Investigators also revealed the incident involved a robbery that took place around 10:30 p.m. Monday night.

The body of the victim, 23-year-old Devin Tyler McDonald, was discovered around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police say Blinks fled to Indiana driving McDonald's vehicle.

He will be extradited to Huntsville and booked in the Madison County Jail.

Suspects are still being sought in the unrelated shooting on Bonnell Drive.

UPDATE: Huntsville police have now identified the names of the two people killed on Bonnell Drive near Sparkman. 

Major Crimes Unit Investigators identified the victims from the Bonnell Drive homicide investigation as D’Asia Monique Morris, 24, and Sequoiya Mone’e Lamar, 20. Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and are actively seeking a suspect.

There was another shooting this morning, unrelated to the Bonnell Drive incident. Major Crimes Unit Investigators have now classified the death investigation on Quality Circle from this morning as a homicide investigation. The victim is identified as Devin Tyler McDonald, 23. This is believed to be an isolated incident.

Both investigations are ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
