HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — It's time to let it go and lace up the skates to kick it with some of your favorite Disney characters as Disney on Ice returns to Huntsville and takes the stage at the Von Braun Center (VBC) April 18 -21.
FOX54 got a chance to take a behind the scenes look at some of the costumes and more ahead of the big weekend with show performer Skye Patton. "So Disney on Ice presents 'Find Your Hero' has six different magical Disney stories ranging from the more modern tales like Frozen and Encanto to the more classic tales like Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid."
Next, Patton let us in on a little costume secret. "We have costumes, like our opening number, which are rock stars. You can see all the beautiful glitter and the sparkles and actually something that's really unique to our show and Disney on Ice is, since we wear skates while we're on the ice, we want to make sure we can make it to all of our numbers. So we actually have zippers on all of our costumes so we can change with our skates on."
Furthermore, it doesn't stop there. We can't forget about the props. "Here, for example, I actually get the chance to portray Luisa from Encanto, and this is her big strong weight and I can't fully lift it right now because, you know, only Luisa can really lift this weight. "
Lastly, Patton gave FOX54 a little sneak peek of what to expect at the show. "We're going to dive into Arundell and see our favorite sisters Anna and Elsa."
