ATHENS, Ala. — Investigators are following up on leads and looking for information about a shooting at the Athens J-Mart.
At about 9:20 Tuesday night, officers responded to a call of shots fired at the intersection of Hwy 72 and Hine Street. When they arrived, they found a Ford F-150 in the J-Mart parking lot with numerous bullet holes in it, but no driver.
They say as many as 30 high-velocity rifle rounds were fired during this shooting, and at least one bullet struck a nearby home. No injuries were reported.
