Take 5 to give $5 on #GivingTuesday, May 5

The money will go to organizations in the Greater Huntsville area who are providing basic needs or health and wellness relief efforts.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville is trying to raise $500,000 by Giving Tuesday, May 5.

They've raised $215,000 so far.

They are currently running the Take 5 to Give $5 campaign, where you take 5 minutes to give $5 or more, up to $5000.

100% of the money donated goes directly to local agencies helping those impacted. 

You can donate:

  • online with a credit card
  • text "GiveHSV" to 44-321
  • make a grant from your donor advised fund

Toyota has donated $50,000. Kim Ogle of Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Madison County says, “Take five minutes to give any increment of five dollars to support the cause.”

On the Community Foundation website you can see how the money will be distributed between organizations, and what services they will provide for local citizens. Organizations include Downtown Rescue Mission, The Care Center, Family Services Center, Happi Health, HEALS, New Hope Children's Clinic, Partnership for a Drug-Free Community, Thrive Alabama, Neighborhood Concepts, Inc., and more.
