A former Madison police officer pleads not guilty to federal civil rights charges.
Eric Parker appeared in front of a federal judge in Huntsville Tuesday morning. A judge set his bond at $5,000.
Parker was indicted in February for an incident that injured an Indian man. Parker is also facing assault charges in the state. A civil lawsuit has also been filed.
The investigation claims Parker used unreasonable force against Sureshbai Patel, who he was trying to question.
