MADISON, Ala. (WZDX) – A former Madison police officer, arrested for assaulting an Indian man in February, will not be able to serve as a witness for pending court cases.
Madison City Attorney Kelly Butler says there are cases that have been dropped because Butler was the only witness involved, although how many cases was not released.
When an officer is no longer available and was supposed to testify, it is standard practice that the court not move forward with the case and instead dismiss it.
Eric Parker was seen on dashboard camera video throwing Sureshbhai Patel to the ground. Parker was later fired from the department.
