HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — This Father's Day, dozens of people from different backgrounds promoting peace at the 'Love Thy Neighbor' Community Day event.

Huntsville ministers, college students and local law enforcement provided spoken word, or words of encouragement at Big Spring Park.

Folks were also registered to vote and completed the U.S. Census.

Event organizer, and Minister Frederick Whitlow, II says actions speak louder than words. "Who is your neighbor? First John 3:18 says we must do more than say. We must love with our actions, our words, our deeds. And at the end of the day, you're my neighbor," says Whitlow.

The last 'Love Thy Neighbor' event was in 2016. Participating organizations for this year's event include The Coalition for Justice Through Civic Engagement and WJAB 90.9 FM with Alabama A&M University.
