HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Limber up, stretch, hydrate and make plans to join the 2024 edition of Fitness in the Park.

The series of one-hour workouts starts Saturday, May 4, in Big Spring Park East with Family Boot Camp, presented by Burn Boot Camp. Want to add to your workout? Stick around for the 15th Annual Mayor’s Bike Ride & Block Party, also in Big Spring Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Both events are free.

Fitness in the Park is held Saturdays in May and June from 9-10 a.m. Each session features a different workout and instructor.

The series is part of Mayor Tommy Battle’s Healthy Huntsville initiative. Mayor Battle said it’s a great way to renew fitness goals while making new friends.

“Fitness in the Park’s popularity keeps growing because of the quality workouts and the camaraderie of participants,” Mayor Battle said. “It’s a great reason to get out of the house and get moving and it only requires an hour of your time.”

Healthy Huntsville Coordinator Kevin Ready said Fitness in the Park offers a wide range of styles and can be tailored to suit individual comfort levels. He said the workouts are designed to be engaging and fun.

“We’re trying to emphasize that exercise can be enjoyable, which is what makes it so special,” Ready said. “It’s great for someone who wants to get into an exercise routine and explore what works best for them. Plus, we have some of the area’s best instructors and it’s hard to beat the backdrop of beautiful Big Spring Park.”

All sessions are intended for participants ages 16 and older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. In the case of inclement weather, classes will move to the portico behind Huntsville Utilities.

The class schedule is as follows:
