Huntsville church gives hundreds of free Salisbury steak meals

Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church held a drive thru to give away free steak meals.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Hundreds of folks in Huntsville were fed Saturday afternoon thanks to one local church. Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church hosted a free hot meal drive thru.

Volunteers handed out 300 meals that include Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, and a roll.

One hundred more of those meals were delivered. Organizers say they're called to give during a time of need.

"This is a(n) effort that we've been doing once a month since the pandemic has started. But you know, we're a church and we believe in the word of God and so this is what the word of God instructs us to do and what God instructs us to do, and so he blesses us of course to be a blessing to others," says Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Youth Minister, Marquis Thompson.
