Trash Pandas Home Opener Forecast

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Rocket City Trash Pandas will take Toyota Field tonight for the first time this season and it looks like some rain might be involved...

A frontal boundary has stalled out to our south, keeping most of the wet weather further to our south, mainly in central and south Alabama. We could develop a little instability this afternoon, and that will allow for a few scattered showers and thunderstorms to move through the Tennessee Valley.

Madison looks to remain dry until close to the ending of the game when the bulk of the rain is expected to move through. Humidity levels will also be high and temperatures will hang in the upper 60s for most of the game.

If thunderstorms do develop, some could contain frequent lightning and heavy rainfall. No severe weather is expected.

Make sure to pack the poncho and wear your favorite Trash Pandas ballcap as umbrellas will not be allowed into the stadium. WZDX News will have a special 5 PM show this evening live from Toyota Field where Chief Meteorologist Jordan Dressman will bring you the latest on rain chances for this evening into tonight.

Also, make sure you have the WZDX app downloaded so you can check the latest weather updates as well as a live look at our Pinpoint Vipir radar.
