A Warm Weekend

The weekend continues to bring warmer air, but there are opportunities for rain.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A system sits to the west in the form of an area of low pressure and an attendant cold front. It will continue to push east through the rest of the evening and the first half of Saturday.

Unlike the rest of the country, its effects will be minimal to non-existent in the Tennessee Valley. It continues to weaken as it pushes east, and really the only thing we'll get from it is some additional cloud cover.

The system continues to push east on Sunday and we could get some showers from the return flow, but it still appears the vast majority will remain dry.

Overall the weekend is looking quite nice. We'll see some sunshine and temperatures will hang out in the mid and upper 70s.

Saturday evening will prove to be beautiful if you'd like to practice social distancing but till get outside. A fantastic evening by the grill!

Once we get to next week a series of systems will move through which bring an opportunity for rain every single day next week. The nest chance looks like it'll come Tuesday where we could see some widespread precipitation.

Rainfall totals over the next week will be on the more mild end of the spectrum. Many are looking at less than 1" of rain through next Friday. April is traditionally one of the drier months in a year averaging right around 4.30" of rain.
