As the result of an operation by Morgan County investigators, Redstone Federal Credit Union announced 18 fraud arrests this week. 2. Red Lobster locations shut down in Huntsville, Decatur
The two restaurants are among dozens that abruptly shut down amid the chain's financial troubles. The contents of the Decatur store were auctioned off for thousands of dollars shortly after the doors locked for good.

4. Saying farewell to a man of faith
Rev. Dr. Julius Scruggs passed away last week; he was Pastor Emeritus of First Missionary Baptist Church was 82.
5. May 8 tornado count rockets to 19
National Weather Service reports indicate the tornadoes that spawned from the storms on May 8 were more than all confirmed tornadoes from 2021-2023 combined. Thankfully, injuries were minimal and there were no deaths associated with the system.
