Huntsville Sports Commission kicks off 2024 AHSAA State Soccer Championships

40 Alabama high school soccer teams will meet in Huntsville at the newly renovated Loretta P. Spencer Sports Complex at John Hunt Park.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The best high school soccer teams in Alabama are heading to Huntsville for the 2024 AHSAA State Soccer Championships from May 8-11 at John Hunt Park. Students will compete in five divisions, and with seven North Alabama schools in the mix: Madison Academy, Tanner High, Westminster Christian Academy, Mars Hill Bible School, Guntersville High, Fort Payne, and Huntsville High.

In a statement, Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle said, "The City of Huntsville would once again like to extend a warm Rocket City welcome to those participating in the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) State Soccer Tournament. We are proud to host these talented athletes and their families for this exciting week of soccer at the Loretta P. Spencer Sports Complex."

“This event is a long time Huntsville Sports Commission favorite,” Huntsville Sports Commission Executive Director Mark Russell added. “We have a prosperous soccer community and truly enjoy hosting this event each year. Our team looks forward to providing an incredible experience for all the student-athletes, coaches, and fans this week at the new Spencer Sports Complex.”

According to AHSAA, tickets for the tournament can be purchased through GoFan and include parking. Separate tickets should be purchased each day for entrance to games. Steak-Out will have items at the concession stand available for purchase in addition to, snacks, candy and drinks, and Nanny's Lemonade will have two stands on site.
