Reporting storm damage in Jackson County? Do it online - here's how

A Citizen Self-Reporting form has been posted to allow residents to submit reports as quickly as possible.

SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — With Jackson County one of the harder-hit areas from Wednesday night's storms, emergency management officials are providing an easy way for residents to submit damage reports.

A Citizen Self-Reporting form has been posted to allow residents to submit reports as quickly as possible.

Affected residents are asked to provide their residential or business address as applicable, confirming city and zip code information, and describe the type of damage received.

It is important during a severe weather event to report damages so Emergency Management personnel can submit these reports to the Alabama Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service in Huntsville. This will in turn help officials determine whether a tornado, straight-line winds, or other severe weather caused the damage.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact the Jackson County Emergency Management Agency at 256-574-9344.
