Mobile Pantry provides free food in Fort Payne this weekend

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — A mobile pantry will provide fresh produce, dry goods, bakery items, and more on Saturday, May 11.  One Generation Away will be stationed at the DeKalb County VFW Fair Grounds in Fort Payne, located at 151 18th Street Northeast. The distribution will run from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. or until supplies run out.

OneGenAway is known for serving North Alabama, Middle Tennessee, and the Florida panhandle to combat food insecurity.

“We can’t wait to come together as a community to support one another,” said Lindsey Lee, the Alabama Manager for OneGenAway. “We are grateful to Kudzu Millwork for partnering with us to make this distribution happen.”

Volunteers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in various tasks such as sorting and distributing food. Volunteers are encouraged to arrive at the site by 7:30 a.m. No prior registration is required to volunteer.
