Pets can be affected by Holiday stress too

Loud noises, unknown visitors and even new environments can cause your pets to have a little stress.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The holidays are upon us and you might want to stop and think about how all the decorating and having company over can impact your pets.

It's important to make sure your furry friends are happy during the holiday season too. Loud noises, unknown visitors and even new environments can cause your pets to have a little stress.

If your pets are showing some destructive tendencies, like ripping things up, running around your house or using the bathroom in places they know they shouldn't, it could be a sign of anxiety.

Another sign to be on the lookout for is excessive barking: If your animals are barking more than normal, it could mean they're stressed out. If they're being a little extra clingy or have hyperactivity, that also could be a sign of stress.
