Huntsville Beautification Awards are back!

The City of Huntsville’s Beautification Board is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Huntsville Beautification Awards.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — HUNTSVILLE, AL – The City of Huntsville’s Beautification Board is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Huntsville Beautification Awards.

The deadline to submit the 2022 entry form and $25 fee for each property nominated is April 1. Judging will take place after Memorial Day.

Due to COVID-19, the Beautification Board did not judge properties in 2020 and 2021. Properties that received a Beautification Award in 2019 were reinspected in 2021 to ensure standards were maintained.

“The Beautification Board sincerely appreciates the efforts of business and property owners, managers and landscapers in helping keep the City of Huntsville beautiful during the past two years,” said Joy Parker, Huntsville Beautification Board chair.

Who is eligible?

City of Huntsville-licensed commercial, business or government properties within the city limits. To qualify, the business must be at least 1 year old. Properties that currently have an award must reapply each year.

What are the judging criteria?

Everything from the curb and/or street address will be judged on first impressions, originality, distinction, design, quality of plants (trees, shrubs, flowers, ground cover, grass), maintenance,  hardscape design and litter control.

How do I submit a property for consideration?

To get started, download and fill out the 2022 entry form completely. Professional landscapers must complete an entry form for each property submitted; lists of properties will not be accepted. A copy of a 2022 business license is also required. Only one copy of the license per landscaper is needed.

Mail the completed entry form and fee to Huntsville Beautification Board, P.O. Box 738, Huntsville, AL 35804. Make checks payable to the Huntsville Beautification Board.
