Fitness in the Park 2020

Join Healthy Huntsville for free, social-distancing friendly friendly fitness classes every Saturday in June

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Healthy Huntsville and Huntsville Parks & Recreation are offering free, socially-distanced exercise sessions in Big Spring Park each Saturday in June.

Fitness in the Park 2020 will take place from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in Big Spring Park East near the canal bridge at Spragins Street. If it rains, classes will be taught under the adjacent covered area in the YMCA/Huntsville Utilities building.

“We hope these free fitness options will motivate everyone to exercise,“ said Mayor Tommy Battle. “Having classes outside also allows participants to spread out and adhere to our guidelines to ‘separate and sanitize.’”

All levels of experience are welcome. Instructors modify classes so that participants can proceed at their own pace. Participants must be at least 16 years old. Please bring water and a mat or towel. Classes are free to the public and paper masks and sanitizer will be available.
