Alabama's 2020 WIC plan is open for public comment through September 15, 2020.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Alabama Dept. of Public Health is inviting public comment on its 2021 Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) plan.

According to ADPH, the program provides nutrition education and supplemental foods, and serves pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women and children up to age 5 whose family incomes are up to 185 percent of the federal poverty level. Special emphasis is placed on participation of infants, children and high-risk pregnant women, but others like fathers and male caretakers are eligible to apply for their children as well.

The 2021 plan can be viewed here until September 15, 2020
