James Clemens football standouts Monty Rice and Kyriq McDonald signed Financial Aid Agreements with SEC schools Monday.
Monty Rice had to choose between Georgia, LSU and Auburn. And after careful consideration, Rice committed to the Bayou Bengals of LSU.
The four-star DB will enroll early with the Tigers next month.
“LSU plays a good style of defense,” said Monty Rice. “They played Bama the closest this year out of anybody. I just wanted to be on a good defense and around some good people. I’m real happy; happiest day of my life.”
There was less drama with teammate Kyriq McDonald. Our former First Down Friday Night MVP, stuck with his pledge to Alabama and signed a financial aid agreement today with Nick Saban’s squad.
The three-star defensive back will also be an early enrollee and will begin classes in January.
McDonald says that he’s ready to work for a spot with the Tide.
“If Nick Saban invited you to private practice and offered you, then how could you say no to Nick Saban? You’re getting coached by the best,” said Kyriq McDonald. “It’s a dream of mine to play for Nick Saban himself. I decided to make it early because I wanted to be in there fast. I didn’t want to wait until next fall, I want to be ready for next spring. Really excited about all the commits we got.”
