Last year we kind of went out way sooner than we thought we would so we’re trying to turn it around this year.
Well It looks like the Mae Jemison Jaguars have done just that.
The number 3 team in Class 6A has had an impressive season so far to say the least.
Week after week they face off against Top 10 teams… and so far they only have two losses on the season.
Our motto is chopping wood one stroke at a time so that’s been our formula. These young men have bought in and it’s been fun.
Head Coach Howard Pride is in his second year at Mae Jemison and says a main factor in their success this year has been mentor ship and a culture change.
We did a lot of team building with Mr Jessie may and his crew and some male bonding. We have some mentors. The second year here it’s been about the culture and the young men have bought in.
That culture change can be seen on the court every single game as the Jaguars will to win is unlike any other. They once again proved that in Friday’s game over Lee.. they were down by 13 late in the third quarter but fought their way back winning it by one point.
We don’t ever give up, we always fight.
I tell them all the time that it’s not over until the whistle blows and our young men have found a way and their chemistry and togethernesss they believe every time the goal goes up. They’ve had that hunger and desire to finish what they’ve started. -before what makes this years team so special
It’s clear that the Jags have one thing on their mind.. and that’s of course winning a state title..
We gotta bring that blue map home…
