Jared Harper withdraws from NBA Draft, returns to Auburn basketball

AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn point guard Jared Harper announced his decision to return for his junior season on Tuesday via Twitter.

Harper entered the 2018 NBA Draft pool in April, but did not hire an agent, which allows him to return with two years of eligibility remaining.

Harper was named Second Team All-SEC and averaged 13.2 points per game, as well as a team-high 5.4 assists in 2017-18. The Tigers earned a share of the SEC regular season title — along with Tennessee — before being defeated in the second round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament.

Sophomore center Austin Wiley also announced his decision to withdraw from the NBA draft on Tuesday. Wiley, who missed the entire 2017-18 season, averaged 8.8 points and 4.7 rebounds as a freshman during the 2016-17 season.

Sophomore guard Mustapha Heron decided to withdraw the draft on Tuesday as well, but has reportedly decided to transfer to another program, according to basketball reporter Adam Zagoria.
