Alabama Attorney General Race: Joe Siegelman wants voters to get to know Joe

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — GOP candidates in the Alabama Attorney General Race are battling with each other to see who will make it to the ballot in November. Democratic candidate Joe Siegelman bested his opponent by 23,000 votes in the June 5 primary election. But he’s not waiting to see who he’ll face in the general election. He’s busy making sure voters get to know Joe.

Joe Siegelman readily admits he doesn’t like politics.

His slogan “People Not Politics” reflects that sentiment.

When asked why he’s running for the Attorney General’s office, Siegelman said:  “I view the Attorney General’s office as a non-political office. And I still don’t like politics and I don’t know that I ever will.  I think this is the one office where if you have a D beside your name or an R beside your name it shouldn’t matter because to do this job right you have to be an independent.”
