UPDATE: Jackson County Grand Jury indicts murder suspect

UPDATE- 5:33 PM – Rocky Harnen, Chief Deputy for the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has told WZDX that Brandon Berry is back in custody.

Harnen says Berry was arrested in Huntsville on Friday.

UPDATE:12/14 – A Jackson County Grand Jury has handed down a kidnapping and murder indictment against a Jackson County man who has apparently skipped bond.

Brandon Berry is accused of kidnapping and murdering David Rivamonte back in September of this year. He was arrested five days after Jackson County Sheriff’s investigators discovered Rivamonte’s body buried in a shallow grave in Woodville.

Berry was able to get out of jail on a $125,000 bond. However, prosecutors have since filed motions to have that bond revoked, “…alleging that the defendant has failed to comply with the directives of the Jackson County Court Referral Officer in that the defendant tested positive for illegal substances and / or failed to report to the CRO as directed.”

Jackson County authorities are currently searching for Berry. If anyone has any information about Brandon Berry’s whereabouts you are asked to call the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
