Huntsville Police responded to a shooting Monday around 12:40 AM. The shooting happened at Club 3208.
According to Huntsville Police Department PIO, Lieutenant Michael Johnson, 33-year-old Samuel Williams was told to leave from the club after an altercation took place between him and another man.
Williams came back to the club with a black AK47 rifle and began firing shots while advancing toward the club entrance.
Two security officers were in the parking lot when Williams began shooting at the building. A woman working security for Club 3208, fired two rounds back at the man.
The offender was shot in his upper right thigh, which caused him to lower his rifle and stop shooting.
The security officer ran into the club to get a tourniquet to provide first aid to Williams. When she returned to the parking lot, the offender had already left in an unknown vehicle.
“We learned later that he was actually taken to the hospital by the aid of someone else, and that someone else actually owns the weapon. We’re actually looking into that right now, so these charges that we have pending menacing and reckless endangerment could actually be upgraded a little bit later,” said Lt. Johnson.
Officers were dispatched to Crestwood Hospital to investigate a gunshot victim while still processing the scene at Club 3208. Investigators advised that the offender would be admitted into Huntsville Hospital due to his injuries and has been placed under arrest.
