Two Decatur schools to function as storm shelters

Back to School

There are now two more places in Decatur for folks to go if severe weather hits.

Both Decatur High School and Austin High School will open as storm shelters during tornado watches. There is room for up to 400 people in each high school.

If there’s a tornado watch, the high schools would be open to the public outside of normal school hours, not during.
