Servicemen and women were welcomed by dozens at the Westin hotel after flying into Huntsville Wednesday afternoon. The Semper Fi Community Task Force is hosting Heroes Week and want these heroes to feel pampered this week.
“These are service men and women who have come home through the hospital system who were wounded in combat, but didn’t come home to a parade or a welcome home or a group of people who said thank you,” said Beverly Lowe, who is part of the Semper Fi Community Task Force Welcoming Committee. “So Semper Fi Community Task Force wanted to do that. They wanted to say thank you, you matter.”
These servicemen and women are from all across the country. It’s the 13th year the hero welcome has been held here in Huntsville.
