A teen is in the hospital with minor injuries after leading Huntsville Police on a car chase Saturday evening.
According to police, around 7:00 p.m., Oct. 26, officers were dispatched to a vehicle that was reported stolen. Officers located the vehicle traveling south on Pulaski Pike near Oakwood Ave. Officers then attempted to stop the vehicle south on Pulaski Pike near Holmes Ave.
The vehicle continued west on Holmes Ave. toward Jordan Ln. The vehicle swerved to avoid hitting spike strips at Jordan Ln/Holmes Ave and struck a utility pole at the intersection. The teen was transported to Huntsville Hospital with minor injuries. She will be charged with 1st degree auto theft, attempting to flee and/or elude police, and reckless endangerment.
Huntsville Utilities was notified of the damage to the utility pole.
