A Tennessee Valley sheriff indicted for violating the state’s ethics laws wants the state’s ethics laws to be declared unconstitutional.
Attorneys for Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely filed a motion today, claiming the laws are vague and overly broad. He was arrested in August and charged with 13 counts of theft and state ethics violations.
He is currently out on bond and continues serving as sheriff.
