A Madison County elementary school received a big grant yesterday.
Riverton Elementary School received a $25,000 grant from the Bayer Corporation’s “America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education” grant program. Local farmers nominated Riverton to receive the funds to build a new outdoor observatory.
The program partners with farmers to nominate their local school districts to receive math and science grants.
Riverton is the only school in Alabama to receive funds from this grant.
