The Heart of Lucky, a local organization that sends care packages to dogs and their owners, gave back to the K9 units at the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Sunday.

In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office said K9 Deputies Juko, Havoc, Knox and Emma, along with their partners, each received two bags of gifts and supplies, including a first aid kit.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said they appreciate The Heart of Lucky and their sponsors for “caring about [their] K9 teams and all those that worked to pull together Operation: ‘Thank a K9 Officer’!”

According to their Facebook page, The Heart of Lucky was founded in Oct. 2017 and primarily sends care packages to dogs with cancer. The organization was founded in memory of Lucky, who was lost to cancer unexpectedly a few years ago. The organization also helps local homeless shelters and pet pantries when they can.
