A memorial fund has been set up at Redstone Federal Credit Union to help the family of Huntsville Police Officer and STAC Agent Billy Clardy III.
Donations can be made at any Redstone branch, and proceeds will be signed over to his wife to help with any expenses following this tragedy and to help her raise their five children.
Farm Burger, a local hamburger restaurant, will be donating 15% of proceeds made from 11 a.m to 9 p.m. on December 18 to Agent Clardy’s Memorial Fund.
The United Merchant Association is also raising funds to help Officer Clardy’s family.
Governor Kay Ivey announced that flags were to be flown at half-mast on December 10, until sunset, “…as a mark of respect for Huntsville Police Officer Billy Fred Clardy III, who was tragically killed in the line of duty on Friday, December 6, 2019.”
In addition to funds, there are other ways people are honoring the officer, such as this Philadelphia forensic sketch artist who paints portraits of fallen officers.
A funeral for Officer Clardy was held on December 10 at Mayfair Church of Christ in Huntsville.
