Nicholas Demetra Pappas, the man wanted for injuring a Madison police officer on Thanksgiving, is in custody.
According to Madison PD, Pappas was allegedly on a stolen motorcycle when he resisted arrest and caused non-life threatening injuries to the officer. He fled on foot and officers were unable to find him.
He was arrested Tuesday morning and is being held on charges with Huntsville PD including Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Trafficking in Stolen Identities. Madison PD says they will be pursuing warrants for Assault in the Second Degree and Fleeing or Attempting to Elude.
Additional charges are possible and the Madison Police Department will make them known as soon as the information becomes available. The injured officer was treated and released from the Madison Hospital Emergency Department the same day.
Madison PD reminds the public that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
