Today, local young designers and models got a chance to put their work on their runway.
This year’s Fashion Takeover Back-to-School Show, featured the work of Alabama’s youngest creatives.
Youth designers put together collections of clothes for the classroom, the runway, and everyday wear. Youth performance groups also graced the stage.
The Alabama Fashion Alliance put together the show and helped show off the next generation of trendsetters.
We spoke with Ellena Lejune, Founder of Alabama Fashion Alliance. She says that this fashion show meant more to the young designers than she could’ve ever imagined. She says, “I think the most exciting thing is just to see their faces, like their actually at a professional event, setting up! …And then to see their parents come alongside of them.”
She adds, “The young people are our future and we need to come alongside of them and just kind of support them and help them get to where they want to be.”
