Healthy snacks may be the key in fighting sleep deprivation and profound fatigue.

The new study found that foods and snacks high in sugars resulted in an increase in sleep-related impairment, while substituting with healthful snacks helped them stay awake when feeling tired.

Results also showed healthy options such as vegetables, smoothies and protein bars increased a person’s ability to focus and concentrate.
