More than 60,000 Alabama school students participated in a reading program hoping to win tickets to this year’s Iron Bowl.
On Tuesday, a student from Madison County was named one of the winners. Macy Hardiman, a 4th Grader at Harvest Elementary, participated in the Alabama Education Association’s (AEA) “Be a Champion and Read” contest for Iron Bowl Tickets.

The AEA gives away two sets of tickets each year – one for an Auburn winner and one for an Alabama Winner. Macy was surprised at a huge pep rally at Harvest Elementary Tuesday, and learned she was 2019’s Auburn winner!

Principal Chris Gunnells says Macy is a great student who loves to read and learn. She’ll get to go on the field at this year’s Iron Bowl on Nov. 30, in Tuscaloosa at Bryant-Denny Stadium!
