There’s a new program kicking off to help folks establish healthy habits for the new year and drop some weight. It’s called Scale Back Alabama, and it’s about to kick off across the state, as well as right here in Huntsville.
Weigh-ins for the weight loss campaign begin starting on January 20th and will be going on through the 26th.
“The idea is to lose over three months ten pounds, so you’re looking at about a pound a week, which is very doable. We do suggest you check with your doctor before you begin any exercise or nutrition regimen,” said Ashley Polesak, Public Relations Officer for the City of Huntsville.
Polesak says participants must have to have at least one other partner to register. The idea is to motivate and support one another while reaching your weight loss goals.
Weigh-in locations are at the four recreation centers in Huntsville as well as the three Huntsville Hospital Wellness Centers. For more information, visit ScaleBackAlabama.com. You can follow Healthy Huntsville on Facebook for more health tips.
